Nederburg has a proud history that dates back to 1791. Its recently renovated manor house, a national monument, was completed in 1800. Over the years, Nederburg has earned more trophies, medals, awards, and accolades than any other South African wine producer. Nederburg Private Collection grapes were sourced from vineyards in the Philadelphia area. The vines received supplementary irrigation. The vines are grown in deep, well-drained yellow and red stony Tukuluand Clovellysoils of shale origin with a fairly good water-holding capacity and ideal for root penetration. Deep ruby red. Aromas of ripe dark berries and black cherries. Dense ripe black fruit, cigar box and wood spice with a firm structure, velvety tannins and a long finish.
